Supplier Code of Conduct
Introduction
Albany Distributing is committed to conducting business ethically and responsibly. We expect our suppliers to share and adhere to these principles. This Supplier Code of Conduct outlines the standards and practices that suppliers must meet to do business with us.
Legal and Regulatory Compliance
Suppliers must comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards in the countries in which they operate. This includes, but is not limited to, laws and regulations related to labor, health and safety, the environment, and business integrity.
Labor Practices
Child Labor
Suppliers must not employ workers under the legal minimum age for employment as stipulated by local laws. Suppliers must comply with the International Labour Organization (ILO) standards on child labor.
Forced Labor
Suppliers must not use any form of forced, bonded, or indentured labor. Employment must be voluntary.
Working Hours and Wages
Suppliers must comply with applicable laws regarding working hours, overtime, and wages. Workers must be paid at least the minimum legal wage or a wage that meets local industry standards, whichever is higher.
Non-Discrimination
Suppliers must provide a workplace free from discrimination and harassment based on race, color, gender, age, sexual orientation, ethnicity, disability, religion, political affiliation, union membership, or marital status.
Freedom of Association
Suppliers must respect the rights of workers to associate freely, form and join workers’ organizations, and bargain collectively.
Health and Safety
Suppliers must provide a safe and healthy work environment for all employees. Suppliers must comply with applicable health and safety laws and regulations. Suppliers must take appropriate measures to prevent workplace hazards and accidents.
Environmental Stewardship
Suppliers must comply with all applicable environmental laws and regulations. Suppliers should work to minimize their environmental impact through responsible waste management, resource conservation, and pollution prevention practices. Suppliers are encouraged to implement environmental management systems to identify, control, and mitigate environmental impacts.
Business Integrity
Anti-Corruption
Suppliers must conduct their business without engaging in corrupt practices, including bribery, extortion, or embezzlement.
Conflicts of Interest
Suppliers must avoid any conflicts of interest that may affect their business relationship with Albany Distributing. Suppliers must disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest to Albany Distributing promptly.
Confidentiality
Suppliers must safeguard and protect the confidential information of Albany Distributing and use it only for its intended purpose.
Fair Competition
Suppliers must engage in fair business practices, including truthful advertising and competition.
Monitoring and Compliance
Albany Distributing reserves the right to monitor and audit suppliers to ensure compliance with this Code of Conduct. Suppliers must provide access to relevant records and facilities for audit purposes. Suppliers must promptly address any non-compliance issues identified by Albany Distributing.
Reporting Concerns
Suppliers must provide a mechanism for employees to report concerns or unethical practices without fear of retaliation. Suppliers are encouraged to report any concerns related to this Code of Conduct to Albany Distributing.
Continuous Improvement
Suppliers are expected to continuously improve their practices and work towards full compliance with this Code of Conduct. Suppliers should implement policies and procedures to ensure adherence to these standards and principles.
